1 is best. Sitmar was our first and best cruise but they no longer exist. In
addition, RCL (Royal Cruise Line), who also no longer exists, would rank extremely well.
Celebrity easily has the best food.
HAL has the best lunch buffet, though
the buffet had much less quality on our last cruise with
HAL on the Volendam (which was very
disappointing due to the terrible waiter, easily our worst, and numerous physical problems with our
stateroom & the manner & timeframe in which they were addressed, though we
pursued their resolution strongly). Our 1st cruise on the Mercury out of
Charleston, SC, was changed from a 10 day to a 9 day due to
NOROvirus (one of the worst outbreaks going
through 3 consecutive cruises), MDR food was good. The 2nd Cruise on
the Mercury out of Baltimore was 10 Days and the MDR Food was very good.
The Explorer of the Seas out of Bayonne, NJ, was changed from a 10 day to
a 9 day due to a turnaround to drop off a sick passenger, though it was
a lot of fun, but the buffet was very poor, and the MDR was below
average, though Johnny Rockets was great, and the good Promenade Cafe
was what became our substitute for the poor buffet.
The 6 Day Enchantment of the Seas out of
Baltimore was supposed to go to Bermuda, but was turned around in the
Atlantic and anchored in the Chesapeake Bay for a number of days due to
Hurricane Sandy...the food was very good,
and we had a lot of fun despite Hurricane Sandy.
